How it works
Register your school
A short form: name, email, year groups, pupil numbers. No account, no cost, no small print.
We review in batches
We weigh every application against current funding. Schools with greater need, more deprived intakes, go to the top of the queue.
Books arrive by post or courier
Sometimes a class set for every child to keep. Sometimes a library pack. It depends on our funding and your school's situation.

We never say no
We never turn a school away. We just prioritise the ones that need it most, so some schools will wait longer depending on our current funding. We'll keep you informed.
“One of the children was especially excited as she had seen several of the stories being read and shared on a YouTube channel, so she knew all about them and was delighted to be getting her own copy. Thank you so much!”

Questions schools ask
Which schools can register with Story Seeds?
Somerset primary schools, including academies with primary phases. Age range 4 to 11. We are focused on Somerset so we can do one county well rather than spread too thin. What will my school actually receive?
It varies. Sometimes a class set so every child gets a book to keep. Sometimes a library pack for the school. Often board or card games, audiobooks, or Yoto players. What we send depends on our current funding and your school's situation. Is there any cost to the school?
No. Everything is free. We post or courier to reception, or drop off in person. Schools distribute materials themselves through their own processes. How long will it take to hear back?
Usually a few weeks. We review applications in batches against our current funding and prioritise schools with the greatest need, so timing depends on where your school sits in the current queue. What if you cannot support our school straight away?
We never turn a school away. If we cannot match you in the current round, we keep you on the list for the next review and let you know what to expect.

What to expect
You'll hear back from us within a few weeks. Deliveries go to reception, never directly to children. A qualified teacher on our team, who holds an enhanced DBS (DBS+), leads any in-person visits.
