What Story Seeds does
Story Seeds is a Somerset Community Interest Company. We send free books, games, and creative-writing competition prizes to primary schools across the county. Schools register through our website; we review applications in batches and prioritise schools serving the most deprived intakes.
Who runs it
Story Seeds is run by Chris and Ella Ryan, parents of Dougie (7) and founders of Innatus Digital, a Somerset-based B Corp. Ella is a qualified teacher with SEN experience and holds an enhanced DBS certificate (DBS+); she leads any in-person activity with children.
How we’re funded
Story Seeds is currently funded entirely by Innatus Digital. We are actively looking for additional corporate partners so that we can reach more schools and deepen the support we offer existing ones.
What we need
Cash sponsorship is the single most useful form of support. It lets us buy great books, including from independent authors, in bulk and get them into the schools that need them most. There are no sponsorship tiers or fixed packages. We talk to each partner about what works for them.
In-kind book donations from publishers and authors are also welcome, by prior arrangement.

How we count
Figures are compiled from our own delivery records and updated each month. We count books physically delivered to a school, not pledged or in-transit. Monetary figures reflect the retail cost of the games or prizes funded.
